1.1 Is this software free?
Yes - we charge you nothing for using Home Credit Card Manager and you are free to use this version, copy it, and distribute it subject to the License Agreement.
1.2 What is a License Key?
A license key is a small file that sits in the same directory as the product you are running and is used to check the product is valid.
Each license key is valid for a number of months from the date it is installed.
To upgrade a license key, you physically replace it with a new one. License Keys are available free from our website www.HomeMoneyManager.com. From the Download section follow the link to the License Key Download page.
Once you have downloaded a new license key, it will automatically be activated the next time you start the product.
Alternatively, if you download a newer version of the product than the one you currently have installed, a new license key will automatically be installed. That is, if you download a newer version of the product you do not need to download a license key seperately.
1.3 Are there any product restrictions?
You must have a valid license key to use Home Credit Card Manager. Refer to the Help and FAQ topic What is a license key? for more information on license keys.
The main reasons we introduced the license key system was to:
This version and all future versions of Home Credit Card Manager will continue to work after the license key expires, however only limited options will be available.
You will be able to open your workbooks and export your data (for use in other applications), however you will not be able to update or report on them using Home Credit Card Manager until you update the license key.

1.6 How do I install a new License Key using the Windows Wizard?
To install a new license key using the windows wizard, simply download and run the exe-file. The installation wizard will then guide you through the setup process.
On completion of the installation the current license key file will have been replaced with a new license key. The next time you start the product it will automatically detect and activate the new license key.
Please make sure you are not running Home Credit Card Manager at the same time you are running the wizard, as the current license key file will be in use and the wizard will not be able to replace it.
The Windows (Wizard) version is an executable file that will only work on Microsoft Windows 9x, ME, NT, 2000 and XP.
1.7 How do I install a new License Key Manually?
To install the new license key manually, you simply need to replace the old license key file with the new license key file.
The file you download from our site is a ZIP archive containing the new license key. Therefore, once you have donwloaded the file, the first step is to extract the license key (which has the extenstion ".jar").
The second step is to locate the current license key file you are using, and replace it with the new one you have extracted from the download.
If you unsure where to find the current license key file, from the Help menu choose About (or click on the About button on the toolbar). When the product information panel appears, click on the "Key Location" button and a new window will appear displaying the exact location of the current license key file.
After you have copied the new license key file to the correct directory, it will automatically be activated the next time you start the product.
Please make sure you are not running Home Credit Card Manager at the same time as trying to copy the new license key file, as the current license key file will be in use and it will be locked.
1.8 Can I export my information?
Yes - Home Credit Card Manager allows you to export all the information you enter, in any of the following file formats:
From the File menu choose Export Workbook... and then select the required format.
